BLNKD Studio

This website: an art-directed, motion-rich studio site that still scores in the 90s on mobile Lighthouse and runs as plain files on shared hosting.

01 / 15 01 — The challenge

What wasn't working

The old studio site looked good and sold nothing. A visitor couldn't tell within seconds who BLNKD was for, what it cost or what to do next — so the studio was competing on price with anyone who could be understood faster. It also ran on a WordPress install that had been compromised.

02 / 15 02 — The objective

What success had to look like

Make the studio's positioning land in five seconds, publish the prices so the wrong enquiries filter themselves out, and prove the two things BLNKD sells — design and engineering — on the site itself.

03 / 15 03 — The approach

How we decided to solve it

Answer the buyer's questions in order
Each section takes the next question a buyer actually asks: what do you do, does your work look good, do you understand my problem, what do I get, what does it cost, who are you.
Publish the prices
Hiding pricing costs more in wasted calls than it wins in negotiation. Public numbers filter enquiries before they reach the inbox.
Prove the engineering with the engineering
A studio claiming speed and craft has to be fast and crafted. The site is the argument.
Immersion without the tax
Motion, sound and 3D only if the page still loads fast, works with reduced motion and works without JavaScript.

Making the offer readable in five seconds

The hero states what the buyer gets, who it's for, what it starts at and what to do next — all before a scroll.

Letting the work be the proof

Projects are shown as a scroll-driven sequence rather than a grid, so each one gets a moment instead of a thumbnail.

06 / 15 04 — The solution · 03

Removing friction from the enquiry

The project form is one sentence you complete, with choices as taps — name and email are the only typing required.

07 / 15 05 — Key decision 01

Outcome-first hero

The headline sells the result, not the service. It's the difference between being compared on price and being understood.

08 / 15 05 — Key decision 02

Static export plus one PHP file

Every page is pre-rendered HTML and the form is a small handler, so the site runs on any shared plan with nothing to patch — the security problem that caused the rebuild can't recur.

09 / 15 05 — Key decision 03

Motion with a purpose

Movement carries attention between ideas and makes the site feel alive; it runs only after the page is idle, is skipped on weak devices, and disappears entirely for anyone who prefers reduced motion.

10 / 15 05 — Key decision 04

No thin pages

Case studies without real content stay out of search until they're written, and structured data describes only what's actually on the page.

11 / 15 06 — The outcome

What changed

The studio now has a site that states its positioning and prices immediately, demonstrates its engineering standard through its own performance, and runs as static files with no software to maintain.

12 / 15 07 — Proof

The evidence

Lighthouse (mobile, simulated slow 4G)
Performance 92–96 across pages tested, Accessibility 100, Best Practices 100, SEO 100 on the pre-launch build.
Zero server software
Static export with a single PHP form handler — nothing to patch, no CMS to compromise.

In one line

A studio site that looked good and explained nothing is now the clearest thing BLNKD sells with — and the fastest proof that the engineering claims are real.
