03 / 14 03 — The approach
How we decided to solve it
- Organise by what people came to do
- Navigation follows visitor intent — get involved, events, priorities, contact — rather than the internal structure of the office.
- One clear first ask
- The hero asks for a name and an email and nothing more. Everything deeper stays one click away instead of competing for the same attention.
- Accessibility as a requirement, not a plugin
- Public-sector audiences include people using screen readers, keyboard navigation and older devices. Contrast, focus states and labelled forms were part of the build from the start.
- Built to stay current
- Events, newsletters and resources are content the office adds itself, because a public site that goes stale reads as an office that's gone quiet.
